“This is an exciting opportunity to give back to the local community, especially during the pandemic”.
Pardeep Khela, associate in our commercial property team, has been appointed to the board of Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL).
The board currently consists of twelve trustees being a mixture of professionals, entrepreneurs and local politicians, who are responsible for working towards KAL’s vision of “helping more people, become more active, more often”. The trustees work with the chief executive to make strategic policy and planning decisions whilst ensuring adequate financial resources are available.
In particular, Pardeep will join the audit committee and be responsible for oversight of the financial reporting process and liaising with the external auditors.
“I am very pleased to be joining the board of trustees. This is an exciting opportunity to give back to the local community, especially during the pandemic. KAL has a strong background providing world class health, sporting and well-being services for the people of Kirklees. My focus will be on ensuring KAL remains competitive by investing in new equipment and expanding upon the range of services currently on offer”.
Created in 2002 as a charitable trust, the organisation operates a number of sporting facilities within Kirklees, most notably at the John Smiths Stadium. They currently employs over 400 people and has a turnover in excess of £13 million.
Please feel free to contact Pardeep should you have any questions regarding KAL and the services provided.
