Established in 1998 by Chris Schofield and Martin Sweeney in Bradford, Schofield Sweeney now has over 160 staff across three offices – Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield.
The firm has enjoyed consistent and profitable growth since it was established and now has revenues of c.£11M. The first quarter of 2018 has seen very strong levels of business with the firm’s corporate team seeing an increase of 60% in deal activity.
“Our 20th anniversary is a milestone for me and the firm. Over the last 20 years I think that we have kept our focus on providing Yorkshire SME’s and their managers with a specialist, modern, high quality service at an appropriate price. We have (like our best clients) invested profits in building up the business by adding to the range of services we can offer. These additional services include Private Client and Tax, Commercial and IT, Business Advisory, Banking, Education, Financial Services, Construction and Complex Litigation.
We have consistently invested in the best possible people and IT and personally I’m very proud of what our people have built. I am always impressed with our team here and I’m proud that we are genuinely committed to diversity in our partnership and our workforce.
We have always tried to get to know our clients and we invest time in them. This is a core value of our business. Again, I’m very proud that our clients keep coming back to us and that we are regarded as trusted advisers who can add value. We are delighted to represent household names including: the Trafford Centre; JD Sports; PDSA; Shearings; Ringways; HSBC; Arla Foods; Rudding Park; Chaophraya; Royal Armouries International” Said Chris Schofield, Chairman, Schofield Sweeney
Taking an active part in the local communities we work in is very important to us and it is a core value of the firm. We all enjoy what we do for charity and community groups and like to think that we make a contribution, but we do it because we think that it’s good for business. Over the years the team at Schofield Sweeney have raised and helped to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds by running, skydiving, swimming, baking, trekking, cycling, abseiling and quizzing for charities and local organisations, including homeless charities, the Children’s Air Ambulance and local hospices.
“In addition, our staff willingly give their time and expertise, pro bono, to schools, charities and other organisations. We are active supporters of our local sports teams and our sportsmen and women. We are keen supporters of the Arts locally and we have chosen to hold our 20th birthday event (which I expect to be a ‘proper do’) in the Tiled Hall in Leeds to reinforce that point. I hope and expect that we will continue with this effort.” Chris Schofield
“We have achieved a lot and we are ambitious enough to achieve a whole lot more. We wouldn’t have been able to develop the firm in the way that we have without the support of our clients, professional and the people who work in the firm and I would like to take the opportunity that our twentieth anniversary presents to thank them.” Martin Sweeney, Managing Partner, Schofield Sweeney
