A team of colleagues from the firm took part in a volunteer day with EPIKS (Environmental Projects in Kirklees) at Colne Bridge Nature Park in Huddersfield, supporting local conservation efforts along the River Colne.
The morning was spent clearing litter from public footpaths and managing the spread of invasive Himalayan balsam. The group also took part in a water safety session, learning how to use swimming safety buoys—an essential skill when working near open water.
After a well-earned lunch at the Royal and Ancient pub, the group joined a guided walk along the greenway, viaduct, and canal, learning more about the surrounding ecosystem and its importance to the area’s biodiversity.
Each colleague in the firm has a volunteer day, which they are encouraged to take to contribute positively to our local communities. It was a great opportunity to get outdoors, get some fresh air and support a brilliant cause.
Huddersfield is home to beautiful rivers, canals, and green spaces that provide vital habitats for wildlife and offer peaceful spaces for residents. EPIKS continues to work closely with community groups, residents, and businesses to protect and improve these spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Well done to everyone involved: Paige Hunt, Eesa Ubaid, Emma Davies, Ashley Iredale, Harriet Simon, Emily Brown, Waqar Munir, Lauren Irvine, Lucy Sheehan, and Jenna Clay.
