Hanson Logistics, a Huddersfield-based warehousing and transportation logistics provider, is set to open a new, custom-built storage facility.
Established in 1846, the sixth-generation family-owned company provides warehousing and chemical storage to COMAH standards and has secured a seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK to develop the first phase of the facility.
The business plans to open a 40,000 sq ft development that will initially deliver 450 units across three floors. With two additional floors planned, the facility will accommodate a total of 900 units. The funding will be used to enhance the security and service features, including 24-hour on-site manned security, CCTV and senior management presence.
Set to open in April 2026, the first phase will see Hanson Logistics create several new jobs, with the business forecasting a 10 per cent increase in turnover over the next 12 months, thanks to the diversification supported by HSBC UK.
The funding was completed with support from Manjit Virdee and Lorraine Hammond in our Real Estate team, who advised Hanson Logistics and HSBC UK throughout the process.
Paul Pheasey, Managing Director at Hanson Logistics, said: “Securing this funding from HSBC UK marks an exciting step in our evolution.
“Our focus has always been on providing reliable, high-quality services, and this new facility allows us to combine our long-standing expertise with innovative digital technology to deliver enhanced security, convenience, and care to a wider customer base.”
“It is fantastic to support a local business in securing a funding package for what will be a pivotal expansion for them. We look forward to seeing the facility open in April and wish them every success with future developments.” Lorraine Hammond, Legal Executive
