We are delighted to have invited work experience students back in to our offices over the last few weeks, after a 2 year COVID-enforced break.
The students were enthusiastic and keen to learn about our firm as well as the legal profession generally. We took the opportunity to assist the students to develop their communication skills by setting them a presentation task as well as a number of group tasks throughout the week.
Sixteen students learnt about the different ways to enter the legal profession from our trainees and apprentices as well as our solicitors who have entered the law as a second career. They also spent some time sitting in our teams learning about what our solicitors and Partners do on a day to day basis.
Here is some of the feedback we had from the students:
“I would highly recommend this opportunity to anyone who wants to experience life at a friendly, hardworking, driven firm. Everyone is so approachable, and the knowledge taken is priceless from a student perspective not just of the firm but also of the industry as whole.”
“I have felt so welcomed, but most importantly, I have felt that all my contributions to the team have been really valued. ”
“I’d like to thank you and the whole team for welcoming me to Schofield Sweeney during my placement. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and found every moment useful.”
“The work experience has definitely helped me improve my skills and I’ve learnt a lot. Where the firm really stood out to me was the fact that it was really diverse and everyone was approachable.”
“I am pleased that all the students enjoyed their time with us and were able to meet a number of our Partners as well as gaining an insight from our trainees and apprentices.” Zoe Oates, Partner.
