The Schofield Sweeney rowing team made it through to the final of the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice Dragon Boat Race 2024.
Held at Pugney’s Country Park in Wakefield on Saturday 21st September, the event attracted businesses, families and our furry friends to watch teams race their boats across the lake whilst racing money for a very worthy cause.
After three heats to determine the best race times. It came down to the final which was a close race; we came fourth and left for home with medals.
We’d like to thank our merry crew on the day: Richard Jobes, Hannah Cullen, Emma Rowley, Emma Davies, SallyAnn Masih, Christopher Carney, Jack Venable, Rosie Bamforth, Anna Hall and Zoe Halliday along with some family and friends,. We also owe thanks to the boat crew, the Forget Me Not team and supporters for making the event such a success.
So far we’ve raised over £1000 for our charity of the year, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, we are very grateful to all of those who have donated so generously. The JustGiving page remains open for those that would still like to contribute, thank you – Schofield Sweeney is fundraising for FORGET ME NOT CHILDREN’S HOSPICE (justgiving.com)
