Well done to Lauren Midgley, Jessica Fielden, Leo Jones-Rowe, Richard Barratt, Abigail Falshaw, Janet Marshall, Diana Walker, Elizabeth McPhail and Lucy Bailey who all ‘Slept out with Simon’ last night.
The weather stayed dry but it was a cold night.
They raised almost £1,500 for Simon on the Streets which is an amazing amount and will help the charity make a real difference to those who need it. Thank you to everyone for the generous donations. A few words from Leo:
“The Sleeping with Simon event is one of the best organised and most emotionally charged volunteering events Yorkshire has to offer. Even though it offers barely a momentary snapshot of life on the streets, it really hits home how hard it is for homeless people to merely survive. Hearing the list of homeless people who have died in Yorkshire over the past 12 months was simply heart-wrenching. We were delighted that Schofield Sweeney could do a little something to alleviate an increasingly prevalent social issue and support this amazing charity.”
Simon on the Streets offers street-based support for those in need. Their team work across Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield providing front-line emotional and practical support for those who need it. www.simononthestreets.co.uk
