James has specialised in litigation matters for over twenty years, working with clients to resolve a range of complex matters.

His specialisms include insolvency disputes, commercial litigation and civil fraud.

Work highlights include:

• Acting for a liquidator in respect of a misfeasance and fraud claims against the former insolvency office-holders. The matter settled after the respondents’ unsuccessful application to strike out parts of the claim.
• Working with liquidators in respect of successful applications for freezing injunctions to a value of circa £3m.
• Acting for the defendants to a proprietary estoppel claim concerning farms worth more that £3m. The matter settled on the first day of trial.

James also regularly advises insolvency practitioners and others in respect of remuneration and other regulatory & procedural matters.
