It is currently estimated that less than 10% of companies are educating their workforce about the symptoms and impact of the menopause.
Mental health issues can often arise due to menopause as well as a host of other symptoms. Millions of days are being lost to presenteeism, which is driving down productivity. As our workforce ages this is set to increase.
Come along and listen to three interesting and entertaining speakers to find out more about the menopause and how we could help you and your business.
Sharon MacArthur is the owner of Miss Menopause which was formed in response to the lack of information about menopause in the workplace. Sharon has appeared on BBC Breakfast, ITN News and Victoria Derbyshire and is a regular on BBC Radio Newcastle talking about the menopause. Sharon’s mission is to educate everyone about the menopause.
Niki Woods of Personal Fitness Facilitated, helps women improve their body, fitness, health, mindset, nutrition, energy and confidence. Niki will use her considerable knowledge and experience to explain the benefits of movement and exercise during the menopause and beyond. She will look at why the type of exercise matters, providing tips on nutrition and looking at why stress management is more important than ever.
John Robinson, Employment Partner will discuss the legal implications arising from detrimental treatment of women at work during the menopause. He will also look at some recent Tribunal cases and the current proposals for legal change in the context of discrimination law.
There will be a Q&A included where we will run through any questions you may have.
This is an in-person event held at our Leeds office.
A light breakfast and refreshments will be provided.
Two free places (per organisation) are available to those with subscriptions to HELP or Just Teach
