Supporting mothers returning from maternity leave and protecting against risk.
With a report from the EHRC* estimating that 54,000 new mothers are losing their jobs across Britain every year, and increasing media reports about women successfully winning claims for pregnancy and maternity related discrimination against their employers, there remains a spotlight on what employers are (and are not) doing to prevent discrimination and retain valuable female employees.
In this webinar, we will be speaking alongside Matrescence expert Gemma Mercer, who works with businesses to support women returning from maternity leave. Gemma will explain what Matrescence is (a term recently added to the Cambridge dictionary), the impact it has on mothers in the workplace and how understanding and supporting it can have a positive impact on employee wellbeing, retention and performance.
Our employment partner Annie Gray will then talk about what your legal obligations are and she will provide some insight into how to deal with some common tricky issues that arise in relation to pregnancy and maternity rights, and what you can do to protect your business from discrimination claims.
This webinar is perfect for business owners, line managers and HR professionals.
