Once again we were delighted to sponsor the Ripon Rotary Bike Ride, which took place on Saturday 7th May. Our riders Duncan Watson and David McEwan were accompanied by a team from Brown Butler Accountants including John Brear and Nicola Taylor.

The ride raises funds for charities supported by the Rotary Club of Ripon, including Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Saint Michael’s Hospice, Dementia Forward and Scleroderma Research.

It is a mixed ability ride of 100km through the Vale of York, starting and ending at Bishop Monkton, and taking in Boroughbridge, Easingwold, Sheriff Hutton, Great Ouseburn, and Ferrensby along the way.

Despite a cool start first thing, the sun made an appearance by the time the riders reached the finish at lunch time.  As always, it was excellently organised and marshalled along the route by volunteers, and there was more sandwiches, cakes, bananas, and fudge than the 300 riders could possibly consume!

Well done to the team and all riders on the day, what a great achievement.
