As an award-winning Yorkshire law firm, our reputation is built upon offering our clients an excellent tailored service, which provides them with clear, pragmatic advice.
For many, we have become an extension of their team and reassurance in times of need. As their trusted advisers, we are someone they return to and use as a sounding board for both their business and personal requirements.
Our construction and engineering team provide a comprehensive service which covers everything from procurement and contract services to dispute resolution, working across every aspect of construction and engineering, including infrastructure, energy and public procurements.
They work with a diverse group of both private sector clients which include developers, contractors, specialist sub-contractors, professional consultants and funders and with public and third sector organisations such as local authorities, charities, schools, academies, colleges and universities.
The role
We are now looking to appoint a new construction partner to:
- further enhance the services we offer our clients;
- help build a team of talented and capable lawyers; and
- take on the mantle of head of the team in the near future.
Ideally, you will already be operating at partner level and have a following to bring with you. However, applications from those in senior associate and director roles who are looking to step up to partnership will be considered.
An emphasis on contentious construction work is required, although any additional non-contentious experience would also be welcome.
What we’re looking for
You should be well connected within the construction industry and as a senior member of our team, you must be able to use your business development and networking skills to build sustainable relationships with clients and external professionals, to help grow and develop our business further.
You should be able to explain complex legal matters in a clear, relevant and concise way. You should be able to conduct matters without supervision and provide service excellence to our clients.
An engaging style with clients will mean you are already regarded as a trusted advisor who can deliver practical and commercial advice in order to provide them with robust legal support.
As one of our senior leaders, you will also need to reflect our core values and be able to show empathy, be collaborative and innovative and above all, you must be approachable.
It is essential that you are people-focused and keen to assist with the development of others.
How to apply
If you are looking to join a successful practice and to work in a friendly, inclusive and understanding environment where your wellbeing will be supported and where there are opportunities to further progress your career, we would like to hear from you.
