If you are looking to join a leading Yorkshire law firm and want to work in an exciting, friendly and inclusive environment where you will be supported and given opportunities to progress your career, we have the ideal opportunity for you.
We have a new vacancy in our Huddersfield office for a legal secretary, supporting both our Private Wealth & Succession and our Contentious Probate teams.
The role
The role will involve providing full secretarial support to all the lawyers, as well as undertaking administrative tasks such as monthly billing activities and supporting credit management processes, as required.
Secretarial duties will include typing support on matters of Probate, Powers of Attorney, Wills & Trusts, Will, trust and estate disputes and general correspondence and administrative tasks such as file closure and archiving.
Who we’re looking for
Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience of private client or contentious probate work or will have worked in a relevant practice area, such as family law or litigation.
It is essential that you have first-class organisational skills and that you are capable of multi-tasking.
You must have excellent communication skills, not just in communicating effectively and easily with people at many different levels, but also possess empathy and understanding to liaise with clients in sometimes very difficult circumstances. You must have a confident and reassuring approach.
You will need to possess excellent IT skills in both Microsoft Office and case management systems (ideally P4W) and be fully adept at document management, including using styles, automatic and outline numbering, track changes, etc.
From time-to-time, you might also need to support secretaries and lawyers within the Private Wealth & Succession group based in our other offices and more widely in other practice areas, so flexibility and adaptability will be important qualities.
You must have a professional, accurate and methodical approach to work and enjoy a busy workload. You will need to demonstrate initiative, be proactive, and, most importantly, you should enjoy working as part of a team.
