Matthew is a solicitor in our dispute resolution team. He supports a variety of clients, from owner-managed SME’s to large private companies, from a wide range of commercial sectors.
Matthew has experience representing clients in a variety of corporate and commercial disputes. He is able to bring problem solving and a pragmatic approach to a range of disputes including: shareholder and partnership; breach of contract; misrepresentation; unjust enrichment / restitution; and negligence.
Examples of how Matthew has supported clients include:
Advising a director-shareholder who had been excluded from management of a company, as to a claim for unfair prejudice, leading to a successful settlement offer for the purchase of their shares.
Acting in defence of a claim for consequential losses alleged to arise from breach of a sale of goods contract, misrepresentation and negligence.
Supporting a partnership in managing the exit of one partner, so as to minimise risk and reduce the likelihood of subsequent adverse consequences or litigation for the remaining partners.
Advising in relation to a breach of contract dispute, in which a ‘battle of the forms’ arose, in circumstances that the other contracting party was not domiciled within England and Wales.
