James heads the team and has been a litigation solicitor for 37 years, working with clients to resolve a range of complex litigation matters.

His specialisms include contract disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, property cases including lease renewals, dilapidation and easement disputes and intellectual property actions. Jim regularly uses mediation as a dispute resolution tool.

Work highlights include:

• Acting for a client in the Manchester Technology & Construction Court, which involved a 54-day trial whereby the client defeated a fraud claim, succeeded on its counterclaim and was awarded indemnity costs.
• Working with clients in a successful strike out application of a £39m claim in the Commercial Court.
