Schofield Sweeney appointed to the Recognise banking panel

28th January 2021

We are pleased to announce that we have been appointed on the inaugural legal panel for Recognise Bank (which forms part of the City of London Group PLC). Our panel status is to support and advise Recognise on transactional activities of UK SME community on lending on an unregulated basis.

We will advise on and work with the Recognise team on all aspects of loan agreements and securitisation.

Manjit Virdee, partner in our secured real estate & banking team, said: “We are delighted to have been placed on Panel to support Recognise in what is a very exciting time for them.  The creation of the new bank is at an interesting time with the global pandemic, but perhaps opportune timing to support SME’s.”

James Meigh, regional director of Recognise Bank said, “We are delighted to add Schofield Sweeney to our legal panel. I have known Manjit for many years and we look forward to working with him and his team. Schofield Sweeney are an excellent regional firm with offices across various locations in Yorkshire, including Leeds where we intend opening a Recognise office later this year to increase our regional lending, following the successful opening of our first regional office in Manchester last year.”
