Amar is a specialist in non-bank insolvency and restructuring, corporate and individuals’ relationships with banks.
His specialisms include working closely with clients on debt forgiveness, debt restructuring and dealing with the miss-sale of interest rate protection products.
Work highlights include:
- Restructuring an individual’s debt with mainline bank reducing secured debt exposure from £18m to under £5m.
- Acting in the restructure of a number of linked entities with substantial debt exposure to a mainline bank. Negotiated debt forgiveness and new funding for the various entities. Also, advice on a new corporate structure. Initial debt exposure more than £18m.
- Restructuring a company’s bank relationship after the bank had appointed LPA Receivers. Reduced debt exposure by over £3m and introduced new lines of funding.
In a voluntary capacity, he is a trustee of Karmand Community Centre in Bradford.
