Jessica has a wide range of experience in commercial litigation, advising businesses and individuals on how to resolve their disputes.
Jessica works on matters including disputes concerning breach of contract claims, professional negligence litigation, shareholder/director disputes, defamation and intellectual property matters and cyber disputes. She has acted in cases before the Supreme Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and County Courts.
As well as conducting matters, Jessica works with colleagues on higher-value, complex cases.
Her work highlights include:
Obtaining permission for a client to appeal to the Supreme Court in an ongoing dispute relating to the ownership of shares.
Acting for a claimant in respect of a dispute concerning the beneficial ownership of a number of significant investment and commercial properties in the North East.
Successfully resisting an application for a client’s arrest under the Insolvency Act.
Acting on behalf of a company resisting an Unfair Prejudice Petition.
Assisting on a judicial review matter challenging the decision of a Local Authority.
Working alongside family solicitors to provide advice to individuals whose change in familial situations also impact their business relationships.
Representing clients who have been subject to data breaches or cyber attack.
Jessica also works as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Law, teaching post graduate students.
