Elizabeth advises businesses and individuals on a host of litigation matters, providing expert advice and solutions to those in need.

She deals mainly with complex and high value Chancery and Commercial Litigation, and has extensive experience dealing with all types of interlocutory applications, including freezing and other injunctions.

She is an Associate Member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), and deals regularly with executor disputes, disputes as to the validity of wills, trust issues, and claims by beneficiaries.

She also regularly deals with disputes as to breaches of restrictive covenants in employment and other contracts, and has obtained injunctive relief to prevent continuing breaches of such covenants, and misuse of confidential information.

Work highlights include:

• Acting for a widow in her capacity as executor of her late husband’s estate in a complex family dispute where five claims are currently ongoing. This included obtaining without notice proprietary, freezing and restraint orders, and a without notice injunction in relation to the occupation of a commercial property. It also involved successfully defending an application for an injunction against our client in the reported decision of Shan v Registrar of Companies [2023] EWHC 1410 (Ch).
• Acting for an employer to obtain a without notice injunction against a former employee restraining him from making use of confidential information, and obtaining a further mandatory injunction for the search of the former employee’s devices to police compliance.
• Acting for an employer to obtain an injunction preventing former employees from acting in concert to breach their restrictive covenants by the incorporation of a new corporate vehicle.
• Acting for the Defendant to a £284 million fraud claim, which was successfully mediated.
• Acting for the Defendant to a £55 million claim for breaches of directors’ duties, which remains ongoing.

In a voluntary capacity, she is a mentor at the University of Law, offering support and guidance to young people studying for a future legal career. She is also a regular supporter of Simon On The Streets, a charity which offers support for those living on the street or facing homelessness in West Yorkshire. She is a member of the Yorkshire Pro Bono Committee, and was shortlisted for “Rising Star of the Year” at the 2023 Yorkshire Legal Awards.
