Julian is a practising barrister and consultant and heads our construction and engineering team.
His specialisms include infrastructure, energy (including renewable energy), utilities and public procurement.
He is uniquely positioned to provide a full service; from advising, drafting and negotiating contracts to dispute resolution work (including adjudication, arbitration, expert determination, mediation and technology construction court proceedings) with an emphasis on commercial risk management and risk aversion.
His clients include those in the private and public sectors (including local authorities and the education sector from schools and academies to further and higher education).
Work highlights include:
- Arbitral proceedings regarding dispute/difference over the construction and interpretation of a suite of contracts in respect of the bespoke design, supply, installation and maintenance of engineering installations including a crane rail system at the Port of Balboa, Panama.
- Handling the TCC proceedings and related mediation in respect of an auger boring and trenchless technology dispute on a motorway upgrade project.
- Advising on and negotiating a suite of engineering/infrastructure EPC contracts for onshore wind turbines/wind farms.
Julian is a TECBAR accredited adjudicator (TECBAR panel of accredited adjudicators).
