Are grammar schools really the engines of social mobility?

“WE WON’T ENTRENCH ADVANTAGES OF THE PRIVILEGED FEW”. The now famous words of Theresa May as she stood outside 10 Downing Street for the first time as Prime Minister and addressed the nation. A noble political maxim, but one which has already come under substantial fire after a return to the Parliamentary battleground of grammar schools. With persuasive arguments on either side, are grammar schools really the engines of social mobility?
