SCHOFIELD SWEENEY ENHANCES COMMERCIAL PROPERTY TEAM WITH NEW PARTNER

Specialist commercial law firm, Schofield Sweeney, has further strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of a new partner, Howard Allen.

Howard joins the Bradford office from DLA Piper in Leeds where he worked for 17 years – starting out in their Bradford office alongside Schofield Sweeney Chief Executive and co-founder Martin Sweeney.

With clients at the firm ranging from entrepreneurial individuals to trading companies, investors and pension funds Howard’s wide range of experience is essential. In recent years he has specialised in all types of landlord and tenant work for national retailers and banks as well as for government departments including granting and taking leases and licenses, acquisitions and disposals and general management work.

Martin Sweeney comments: “I’m delighted to be welcoming Howard to the Bradford office of Schofield Sweeney. Having worked together previously I know he will be a fantastic asset to the commercial property team and the firm as a whole.”

Chris Schofield, Chairman, adds: “Howard’s appointment is an important move for us as it marks the continual growth within our property team.”

Howard says of his new position: “Since working with Martin Sweeney earlier in my career I have followed, with interest, the ongoing success and expansion of Schofield Sweeney. I am very much looking forward to working alongside them once again.”

The firm recently received praise in the Chambers Directory, a leading guide to the legal profession, where it was described as a ‘slightly maverick’ outfit that ‘avoids wasting time on legal point scoring’ - a character trait much valued by clients.
