The new General Data Protection Regulation and how this will impact on your business

30th November 2017

Do you know what effect the GDPR will have on your organisation?

Can your organisation withstand a potential fine of up to €20M or 4% of global turnover for non-compliance?

Have you got a compliance plan in place?

No?

Then let us help.

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is due to be enforced from 25th May 2018. This creates new obligations on businesses and organisations in breach will face dramatically increased penalties. There has been a lot of hype about the potential effect of this Regulation but there is very little clear guidance available about what you need to do to comply.

We are hosting a GDPR briefing seminar where our team of expert solicitors will strip away the jargon, discuss the effects that the GDPR will have on your organisation and, most importantly, provide some practical guidance about what you need to do to prepare. Some of the keys topics we will be discussing are:

  • Understanding the GDPR and the potential impact on your business
  • Mitigating risk
  • Accountability
  • The role of a Data Protection Officer
  • Essential actions including ensuring compliance from providers
  • What to do in the event of a data breach
  • Ensuring your staff are trained

There will also be plenty of time for questions and answers at the end to help you get GDPR ready.
