Insolvency

We specialise in all aspects of Corporate Recovery and Insolvency acting on behalf of Insolvency Practitioners from some of the large national firms, together with many of the small independent firms in the Yorkshire region.

Our Insolvency team comprises: Chris Schofield (Partner), Helen O’Hara (Associate) , Judith Clark (Associate) and Lisa Adkin (solicitor).

We have particular expertise in dealing with the following:-

Corporate Recovery

  • reorganisation of businesses and financial restructuring
  • administrations
  • liquidations
  • administrative receiverships
  • company voluntary arrangements

Personal Insolvency

  • bankruptcies
  • individual voluntary arrangements
  • partnership voluntary arrangements

Banking

  • Drafting of Security documentation on behalf of banks, other financial institutions, companies and individuals
  • Advising on all types of security documentation in a commercial transaction or in an insolvency situation

Seeking to Recover Monies

We are also able to offer a service to commercial clients providing advice on the issue of winding up and bankruptcy proceedings in relation to debts and will guide clients through the complex issues of preparing and serving statutory demands and petitions. In addition we advise on the impact of the various types of insolvency from the point of view of a creditor, how that may affect a client’s business and what action a client could take. We will also deal with paperwork received relating to any type of insolvency on a client’s behalf, such as completion of proxies, free of charge.

Terms and Conditions and Retention of Title

A particular problem for businesses is retrieving goods, which have been supplied on retention of title terms. We will review a client’s terms and conditions to ensure that clients have the best chance possible of retrieving their goods in the event of the customer’s insolvency.

If you wish to discuss any insolvency matter, please contact Helen O’Hara or Judith Clark.
