Corporate Social Responsibility
We recognise that we are accountable for all our activities to our clients, employees, suppliers and the wider community in which we operate.
We are committed to behaving reasonably and responsibly at all times and to making as full a contribution as possible to local economic and social development while improving the quality of life of our employees as well as of the local community.
Professional Standards and clients
It is a core value of ours that we adhere to the highest possible professional standards set for us as solicitors. We believe that our clients are entitled to our full support and that we should provide them (in the most cost effective and appropriate manner) with the best advice possible.
Employees
We recognise the need for responsible, flexible and non-discriminatory recruitment practices and actively encourage the recruitment of women, those from ethnic minorities, older and disabled people.
We are committed to the improvement of our service by the training and development of our team. We believe that we should operate in a family atmosphere and that we should work with a smile on our faces. We recognise that our people are entitled to a life outside of work. It is one of our core values that we trust one another to do their best.
Pro Bono
We are proud of our long established record of undertaking and supporting charitable work in the local community (particularly for cancer research and cancer care in Bradford) and of our reputation for carrying out Pro Bono work.
Our solicitors and trainees are in constant demand to give their expertise and (free) time to various community organizations. Our skills are particularly relevant to organizations involved with economic development, educational attainment, urban regeneration and social inclusion.
We are a young practice and many of our people are passionate about sport. Many of our people give of their own time to coach and support boys and girls teams in local schools and clubs.
Environment
We have in place strategies to reduce energy consumption, minimize the use of paper and to recycle waste paper. We encourage our people to travel to work by public transport and we encourage working from home.
Why do we have a CSR policy?
It is a core value of ours that we should give something back to and participate in the community in which we operate. We believe that the practical expression of our corporate and social responsibility policies have been good for business and brought us the following benefits:
- They have helped us to grow quickly and profitably
- They have made it easier for us to recruit and retain staff
- They have increased morale and motivation
- The contributions our people have made from their free time have enhanced our standing and reputation amongst our clients and in the community at large
